Meet Anne Weaver, CEO, of Fairbanks Community Food Bank

Anne and I talk about the history of the Fairbank Community Food Bank, the value of each donated gift, and volunteers. She unpacks how this organization is structured, with examples of sustainability woven into the stories and examples.

Anne answers the question, "Who does the food bank serve?" How hunger is a symptom and the glue is in the sharing of resources. As volunteers make up two-thirds of the workforce each volunteer is absolutely essential to the mission of the food bank. We each talk about the impact that happens when we give outside ourselves and the joy of sharing can grow a community!

Anne tells me about her personal journey to become the CEO and her experience growing up in the food bank. Her growth as a leader and her resolve to guard the organizational mission. With successful stores of long-term employee and volunteer retention.
